What Is Ruin?
Ruin is a raid-focused guild on the Earthen Ring server.
We recruit players of all levels who are ready to raid above all else.
We do not have attendance requirements, nor do we mandate any talent builds for any classes.
There are only two requirements for membership with us, maturity and a commitment to raiding.
Please have a look at the recruitment status on this page and consider filling out an application. Talk to a class leader or any guild member to get an idea what we're like and whether you think we're right for you.

Ok, nobody try sticking their head up Bull's ass, it's just a funny line from one of the greatest comedies ever.
However, on a more serious note, I have elected to step down and hand the Ruin proverbial "reins" back over to Bull, and I just wanted to say a few things about it.
I can't thank Bull and Merax enough for not only the opportunities they gave me to become a better WoW player, raider, and eventually GM, but for the people this guild allowed me to befriend over the years. I am going to warn you, this will be a wall of text, but I intend to make it count. If I don't mention you by name, it doesn't mean you meant any less to me than anybody else, it is more likely just because the part of my mind that illicits memories failed me.
Bull and Merax, thank you for taking me in, and teaching me what raiding was, what a guild was REALLY about, and believing in me and supporting me when I took the driver's seat. Thank you for making me realize that Ruin Raiding's downfall was not a result of my leadership, but the product of time.
Grinzle, Tauranis, Gutravus, Kamehameha and Thetemptress. I want to thank one for teaching me how to be a mage, one for teaching me how to tank, one for teaching me what real friendship means, one for teaching me that it is what it is, and all of you for making it hard......in one way or another......you know who you are and what I mean.
Dethyler, Vahru, and Tithonus. Thank you for being the voices of reason in all of our madness, even though I am still not even sure Tith has a "voice", or is even real! You were always able to keep cool heads, and help smooth rough areas over, and helped me make some of the hardest decisions I ever had to make.
Oxala, for doing a thankless job, even though you didn't have to. You made my life so much easier.
Himtoo, for having a sense of humor we both could understand.
Wolfsonn, Gutravus, and Whilix.....for being the best RL friends a guy could ever hope for, and the same in game. Lucky for me, I had the best of both worlds with you guys.
Astenus, for being that guy that could pick up any toon, and play it like it was second nature. Conceited or not, you are a hell of a gamer, and it was great learning from you.
Aab, for being my spazoid Chicken. Yeah, you could get excited about stuff, but learning about you and who you are, I know all the eruptions, good and bad, were due to the passion you carry for gaming. I hope that passion carries your career far with the road you are on.
Xal, thank you for laying it out on the line, night in and night out, doing so much research, helping me and others any chance you could, and always fueling the fire between me and Cin.
Tainted.....Thank you for making me realize, that no matter how sick, twisted, and disgusting my thoughts were, there was always someone out there that is twice is bad. You truly are Tainted, Father Badtouch.
Tec, thank you for proving to me that everyone is full of shit.......NOT ALL PEOPLE deserve a second chance.....unfortunately for me, it took giving you one for me to realize it. May a million fire ants infest your anus.
Lilbitters. Thank you for just being you. I grew up(leveled) with you, went our separate ways, and ended up coming back together in Ruin. I will always hold the memory of you solo kiting the Striders in our first successful Lady Vashj kill. It was Epic, as are you my friend. I hope you are well.
Grinzle, yes, thank you again. You actually taught me the most about playing my toons right than anyone, and taught me a lot about just being a good person. You have a mind that works unlike any I have ever encountered. Your perspective and thought process is unique, and brilliant. Not that you need anyone to feed your ego, but yeah, your lack of presence was felt. I hope you are well, and I would give anything to hear a face-melting harmonica solo about right now.
The last two of you I am going to thank are the most important people I have encountered since I started playing this game.
Ishtahota. I don't even know what to say. You are Ruin on SO many different levels. You played the role of Mother, Sister, Best Friend, Vixen, and Spiritual Leader over the years, sometimes all at the same time. For someone who has been through so much pain and strife throughout your life, you have taken it all with a grain of salt and turned it into something positive. Nothing can seem to touch your heart and soul, you always end up singing in the end. So modest too......."I'm not that good of a healer" Pfffft, girl, you could outheal most people one handed, and even did sometimes when you broke your wrist! You have always been purely devoted to Ruin, and to have you stand behind whatever decision I made, whether you agreed with it or not, that meant the world to me. Plus, getting to hear you drop the F bomb in Vent/Mumble, that was just priceless. And no one can hold a torch to you and your Rap Battle Beatboxing Skills. I love you Ishy, and if I get the chance to come down that way this year, I would like to meet you and Ox, and maybe even Thetemptress if I am able, even if it is just for a cup of coffee and some hugs.
Last and most certainly not least, Cinoril. Call our relationship what you want, but as much joking that was done about and between us on the outside, the relationship that was carried between us on the inside is something that I can not even begin to describe. You were my rock, the heart of my soul, the Yin to my Yang, yes, and even the peanut butter to my jelly. Ruin may have fallen apart at the seams in very bad ways a LONG time before it did if you hadn't been there for me. You always had a view of the problems at hand that I could either not see, or was not willing to open my eyes to without help. We shared laughs and we shared tears. You kept me going down the right path though, no matter what was going on, how dismal things may have looked. You grew to be one of my best friends I have ever not met IRL, and I personally intend to change that last part as soon as I possibly can. I owe you one of the biggest hugs I have ever given someone. Thank you for having faith in me, and helping me to realize how important Ruin really was and is to me. I miss the sound of your voice, and the Freudian slips you had in Mumble, and I miss just being able to chat with you. I do miss you the most.....PERIOD.
With that, it is very likely that my overall MMO playing time is coming to an end. I have cancelled all of my subscriptions at this point. I have my main WoW account active until October, when my annual pass commitment will expire. My ToR membership will expire in September I believe. I WILL be playing Diablo 3, as it seems like the only way for me to enjoy myself and gaming on my schedule without feeling obligated to fulfill a time schedule to meet other peoples' needs. My family deserves my attention, as my kids are getting older, and my business is really starting to take off, demanding more of my time. My wife has needs too, so I have to make a lot of money to fulfill them. What did you guys think I meant? SHOPPING.....sheesh, sick bastards.....hehe. Anyhoo, you might see me off and on from here on out, just killing some time, or logging on to see who I can say Hi to and catch up with, then again you might now. Feel free to find me in game on Diablo 3 in less than 2 weeks. I am always happy to hear from any of you. I love you all, you are all an extended part of my family, the Ruin Family. Fare thee well.
